Summer is here and the desert lets you know it. Be prepared for summer matches by wearing light loose layers to stay cool and keep covered up. Switch your hat to a light color or straw version to allow heat to dissipate from your head and be sure to consume 8 - 10 ounces of water for each hour you are on the range if not more. We always have iced bottled water on the range during the match for you, so please take advantage of it. Sun block should be applied generously to any exposed areas and also reapplied during the day to protect the skin.
If you have a cart that has an umbrella this is the time of year it comes in very handy. If you are a new shooter, there are plenty of folks that are willing to "share the shade". Summer is a great time in the desert to be outdoors you just need to make sure you are well hydrated and prepared.
