Our next regular monthly match will be held
August 16, 2008 at
the Tombstone Livery & Range
July
19th Match
We had 34 Regular shooters this month with 3 in the Open
Category. Not a bad crowd considering the heat and humidity.
Men's Traditional category was
the biggest category this month. We had one brand-new shooter, welcome
to Ruthless Red. Dirty Bob was this months match
director, he wrote the stages, ran the show and put a few twists into it.
Shooters shot a .22 pistol on one stage, then paired up with a partner
and switched guns with them on another.
Congratulations to the 4 shooters that shot the match
clean:
Dirty Bob (Hmmmm, wrote the match???), Harley B
Gone, Harley II, and Watch out.
You all get a
free shoot on us next time.
We will be
holding awards at the range shade as soon as scores are tallied from now on
unless the weather won't permit. That will leave everyone free to pursue
other activities as soon as we're done.
We have some announcements:
Pony Express
is recovering from successful surgery, and Marana Fred is recovering
from a possible minor stroke. Our best wishes and prayers go out to
these dear Pards. God bless and get well soon!
Welcome back to TA Chance as President, and Mist Chance
as a Director. Buckeye Pete is now our Treasurer, and Canelo Kate is now
our Secretary. We promise to continue in the tradition, direction, and
spirit that Ole Deadeye and Los Vaqueros started.
We will keep Los
Vaqueros the "Shooters Match" it is.
If you or someone
you know would like
to be on the list, simply email us at
Los Vaqueros ,and
we'll put you on the list. That's all there is to it.
All of the stages now have props built on them
and we salute The Tombstone Livery, The Tombstone Ghostriders Action
Club, all the volunteers, and of course, The Bordertown 2007 Board and
Workers. They have worked together to make this a first class venue for
Cowboy Action Shooting. Cowboy Doug has been working on the Chuckwagon
Shack and it is looking nice.
We always have
coolers with water on hand, so there's no excuse for
getting dehydrated. Dehydration will get you as you lose water
through respiration and
perspiration. A hand towel in the gun cart can be wet down for
cooling. Spray bottles for misting everybody whether or not
they want it are handy also.
Drink, drink, drink, we don't want anybody needing
Buckeye Pete's medical services.
